One of the biggest new features of the new iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max is its notch. In fact, we now call it Dynamic Island, because it’s more than a space for sensors, it’s a hub for notifications, status indicators and activities background. Something that some have already rushed to bring to the iPad.
A vibrant island beyond the iPhone
The graphic designer Parker Ortolani posted these concepts on his Twitter account. With them, we can imagine what the arrival of an iPhone 14-style notch on iPads would look like. It is true that the reduction of the frame for this design to make sense should be noticeablebut by forming a good palm or accidental touch detection system, Apple could well afford this kind of change.
In the past, we have heard rumors that Apple considered changing the front camera from the top center of the screen when the iPad is in portrait mode to the top center when the iPad is in landscape mode. Given this change, we could imagine, with the necessary licenses, a design similar to that of the iPhone 14 Pro in the new iPad Pro announced for this month of October.
The truth is that with the physical space available for an iPad, we could fit the occasional action button there. Parker offers Spotlight, but also indicators for camera use, current playback and also shortcuts to control multitasking. Something we have already seen with the arrival of the upper three points and which could now be integrated more into the system.
Remember we are talking about a concept, nothing more. We haven’t heard any rumors of such a change, but the truth is that the idea sounds very interesting. A concept that could even reach the Mac and its notch at the top. We’ll see what Apple has planned. We are ready for surprises.
