latest patch multidimensional Here comes a redesigned hitbox and damage box, swaps the Velma Call Police Car for a mystery machine, and adds a Gizmo.

Multiverse patch 1.02 has been released with some pretty big changes to the game, the biggest being the hitbox/harnessbox overhaul. Before the update, a character’s damage box was just a single, bean-like shape, more of a one-size-fits-all situation. Now, though, the damage box wraps each character individually, which should make the action more compact.

The latest update also brings a brand new character, Gizmo, the kind Mogwai from the best Christmas movie, Gremlins. Gizmo is a support character that helps teammates absorb damage they take. His classic pink car can be used as a projectile to shoot enemies from a distance, and he can use his umbrella to float to safety or crash into opponents.

Many characters have also received various buffs and nerfs, like any patch in a fighting game, but Velma has probably received one of the most specific changes. Previously, one of her actions was that she called the police to take people away, but now it has been replaced by a mysterious machine.

No specific reason for the change was given, but given that Velma can really do against a real-life black LeBron James, it will soon become clear why this is happening.

Other updates include changes to the projectile system, which “standardizes opposing projectiles to always clang, destroying two projectiles at the same time,” among other changes.

Gizmo isn’t the only Gremlins character to appear in the game, as Stripe and DC’s Black Adam are also scheduled to join the roster as part of the game’s first season, and he’ll also be joining the first characters to arrive this season, Rick and Mo Tim’s Morty.
