Before and after the Bundesliga winter break, Sat.1 is always allowed to show one game from the relevant game days live on free TV. With Leipzig, Bayern and Dortmund, real big calibers are there this time.
- Sat.1 was able to secure very attractive games for its forthcoming free TV broadcasts of the Bundesliga.
- The World Cup in Qatar requires new dates/game days for the free TV broadcasts in winter.
- Sat.1 cup winners (Leipzig), runners-up (BVB), champions (Bayern) and former champions (Gladbach) go online
The Bundesliga calendar has changed significantly this season due to the Winter World Cup in Qatar. Nevertheless, Sat.1 is still allowed to show (among other things) the last game before the winter break and the first game afterwards live on free TV. As a rule, these are matchdays 17 and 18, but this time due to the date only matchdays 15 and 16.
Bundesliga big caliber guests on free TV
Sat.1 can definitely be happy about this: When the DFL was scheduled, the private broadcaster caught the right big fish. On November 11, the Borussia duel between Mönchengladbach and Dortmund will open the Bundesliga weekend (matchday 15).
Just like the start after the winter break, on January 20, 2023, the game between RB Leipzig and record champions Bayern Munich (matchday 16) will be broadcast by Sat.1 on free TV from 8:30 p.m. Both encounters can also be seen on DAZN for a fee.
More live games at Sat.1
From the (regular) Bundesliga calendar, that was it for Sat.1 for this season. When four clubs go into the relegation games for the 1st and 2nd Bundesliga after the 34th matchday, the broadcaster will be there again live. All four duels also run live on free TV. In pay-TV, Sky then transmits in parallel.
Also interesting…
If you generally prefer to follow the Bundesliga on pay TV rather than free TV, you should definitely take a look at this bundle offer, consisting of Sky and DAZN.
