As part of the Ubisoft Forward, Ubisoft recently provided numerous insights into upcoming games in the Assassin’s Creed action series. As a result, another game in development has now been made public that has not yet been talked about.
After the numerous announcements about Assassin’s Creed around Mirage, Hexe, Jade, Red and Infinity, it should be over for the moment, right? After all, Ubisoft already has numerous titles in the works. But the answer is: no way! Rather, another game that is currently in the making has now become public.
Under the code name Invictus, the studio is apparently developing a multiplayer title in the Assassin’s Creed universe, which is also to be published via the Infinity Hub. This was confirmed by Assassin’s Creed boss Marc-Alexis Coté during a presentation in Paris.
In connection with Invictus, Coté showed off numerous artworks from previous protagonists of the series, as well as some enemies like the Minotaur from Odyssey. These could all celebrate a comeback in the standalone multiplayer title.
“Codename Invictus is designed as a standalone game through the Infinity Hub alongside Codename Red and Codename Hexe,” said Coté. “The project will be spearheaded by former senior members of successful Ubis oft multiplayer games such as For Honor or Rainbow Six: Siege, who have been joined by AC talent to bring their know-how to create a new kind of multiplayer experience. All three named Games will be individually accessible via the Infinity Hub.”
In a follow-up interview, he then confirmed that part of the team’s creative intentions was to combine the franchise’s various games into one multiplayer experience. Accordingly, various characters from previous titles will actually be seen in a multiplayer part. However, further details are pending at the moment.
