The most recent Nintendo Direct presentation was the moment chosen by Square Enix to reveal Octopath Traveler 2. This is the sequel to the 2018 RPG where the HD-2D art style debuted, now a personal trademark of the company. Other RPGs like Triangle Strategy y Live A Live have contributed their own dues to HD-2D. Octopath Traveler 2 is actually the third game in the series, due to the prequel Champions of the Continent for mobile.
Eight new travelers in a new world –Solistia– and a new era are the protagonists of this installment.
In addition to the physical and digital game, Square Enix presented the collector’s edition of it. This includes a copy of the game; 44-page album book with art, world maps and illustrations; a mini soundtrack with 24 extended battle track variations and unique melodies by each of the eight protagonists; a set of eight busts, one for each traveler.
It is important to clarify that the physical game does not come in the same package as the collection, but is shipped at the same time as the collection. The collector’s edition of Octopath Traveler 2 currently you can pre-order through the Square Enix store for a price of $179.99 USD.
What does the collector’s edition of Octopath Traveler 2?

This book is a collection of the game’s art, world maps, illustrations of the eight travelers and their crossed paths. Its pages are made to extend 180º and make it easier to fully appreciate them. The cover is finished in matte with foil print, giving it a luxurious touch.

Extended Battle Tracks
This CD includes 24 music tracks that are extended versions of the game’s battle themes. each character has their own tune, which plays when they face a higher-powered enemy or stage boss. These tracks are special tracks that will not be included in the full soundtrack to be released separately soon.
Travelers Bust Set
A collection of bust-shaped figures with the effigy of each traveler who is the protagonist of Octopath Traveler 2. These are:

- Partition – Merchant
- Osvald – Erudito
- Throne – Thief
- Temenos – Cleric
- Ochette – Jacket
- Castti – Apothecary
The decorative background inside each figure features a map of the continent of Solistia. When this map is unfolded as a background for the figures, the epic world of Octopath Traveler 2 resuscitate.
