Diablo 4 hasn’t been able to make its fans happy lately, after the developers’ last quarterly update there were mostly negative comments about the planned monetization with a season pass and in-game shop in a full-price game – including our Peter:

But now a new leak is circulating on the net, which many fans on Reddit that brings tears of joy to your eyes. We explain to you what is behind it and what exactly there is to see.

What happened? On the Russian YouTube alternative Rutube, 44 short clips were published by a channel called Diablofans, but these are no longer accessible. These feature internal footage from motion capture sessions as well as early versions of story cutscenes.
On Reddit you can still find some screenshots that Blizzard has not yet taken down via copyright strike:

What did you see? The cutscene shows the villain Lilith in a dialogue with the hero and his companion, at the end of which Lilith summons a boss enemy. This rides on a five-headed Cerberus, which is apparently the amalgam of anger
acts.
This beast has been featured in previous Blizzard blog posts. Noisy Wowhead Amalgam of Fury will also be available as a mount in World of Warcraft by purchasing the Diablo 4 Collector’s Edition.
Spoilerwarnung: But the motion-capturing shots, which reveal a lot about Lilith and her motifs, are really exciting. So read on only if you don’t mind Diablo 4 story spoilers.

In one of the videos, Lilith’s goal was apparently to corrupt the angel Inarius with a piece of the demon Astaroth’s heart.
Inarius was – just like Tyrael, Malthael, Auriel and Co. – a part of the Angiris Council of the High Heavens. He mated with Lilith and thus created the nephalem.
According to various novels and in-game diaries, he is currently in hell, where he has been imprisoned and tortured for thousands of years.
