A few days ago Apple presented the new iPhone, and the truth is that they were not what is said to be a revolution. They didn’t need it, really.

Many analysts have commented in their reviews that iPhones are good, have things worth having, but “they don’t bend or do crazy things.” This expression is literal.
This is important because it shows that foldables are, for the ordinary citizen, and for experts, the latest technology currently in the telephony sector. However, they are still very expensive.
The foldable mid-range will arrive
We know Samsung is working on a foldable Galaxy A, although we still don’t know when it will be introduced or how much it will cost. It would be rare for it to drop below 600 or 700 dollars.
Thing is, seeing Apple’s presentation in September, it’s even clearer to me that Samsung’s mid-range foldable should only focus on one thing: Screen size.
Foldables are the perfect solution for those who want a really big screen and adequate portability. It may seem obvious, but it wasn’t the case for many until a few years ago.
Apple itself began in 2022 to give away a large diagonal version of its basic iPhone, which until now only the Pro models had, the more expensive ones.
This shows what Android mobile manufacturers have known for years, that nobody wants small mobiles, but mobiles with big screens and, if possible, easy to carry.
That’s what a mid-range foldable would do, a phone that doesn’t have to focus on design, cameras or other features. It should just focus on a great display and a battery that can keep up.
form factor
What happens is that Samsung currently has a huge mobile with a large screen, the Fold, and a small mobile with a normal screen, the Flip. The ideal would be to use a ratio more similar to that of the OPPO Find N, although it does not use the entire exterior as a screen, for cost savings and to differentiate the Fold.
For now, there’s little left to do but speculate and hope that Samsung finds the key to bringing this technology closer to the mainstream, even if it’s in 2023 or 2024.
