Google TV and Android TV increasingly on more Smart TVs in Europe
Via 9to5Google we know that Android TV and Google TV are very successful in Europe thanks to the figures reported by research firm Omdia at a Philips event.
And while in the American market they are not as successful as in European countries such as Europe, the figures we have indicate that increased by 20% in all smart TVs which have been distributed in Europe since 2019; year in which the Android TV platform first appeared.
It’s a fact that brands like Philips, TLC, Hisenseor Xiaomi itself, find their place with Smart TVs that use both Android TV and Google TV, although it is true that Samsung’s Tizen and LG’s WebOS complicate the road with very attractive offers to occupy the space of the house of Spaniards and Europeans.
This Philips presentation also dropped that cloud gaming is going to be the driving force future distributions, such as Stadia from Google or the same GeForce NOW from NVIDIA; both available on Android TV as well as with Amazon Luna or Xbox Game Pass.
It has also been commented that Roku and Amazon Fire TVwith devices that have entered European lands, have not had the expected success in the Smart TV market in Europe.
So every brand that has Android TV or Google TV on their Smart TVs is reaping generous benefits thanks to how they’ve doubled their distribution numbers over the past three years.
