And once again a deep dig into the moth box: Konami has announced remasters of the role-playing classics Suikoden and Suikoden II for PC and consoles.
Suikoden and its sequels are Japanese role-playing games that came out for the original PlayStation in the mid-90s, and both titles are set to make their revamped returns in the coming year. Konami announced this at the Tokyo Game Show.
According to this, Suikoden 1 and 2 HD Remaster Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars will appear together on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC via Steam and Nintendo Switch in 2023.
Konami explained some of the changes made for these remasters. The pixel sprites and environment graphics have been changed, with new screen effects such as lighting, clouds, and shadow animations. Also, all character portraits have been updated to HD.
According to Konami, Junko Kawano, who designed the characters for the original version of Suikoden, has redrawn all of the character portraits for Suikoden 1 HD Remaster Gate Rune War.
A number of ambient sounds not heard in the original version, such as the sound of running water in the river, wind, insects and running footsteps, have been added to this. In battles, all sound effects are now in HD.
Suikoden I&II HD Remaster Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars will be released in 2023 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Steam and Nintendo Switch.
