One of the downsides we found is that the app only gets along with the central cutouts of the screen: If you have a hole camera on the top left, you still cannot set the island notification directly on that hole. Aside from this dev issue (DynamicSpot is still in beta), the animations and customization work well.
You can choose which applications launch the notification island, you have the possibility to adjust its behavior to a minimum (the application is free; with advanced paid functions) and has no ads.
As for the Android-style dynamic island experience, your chosen notifications will jump to the area you choose. This notification only offers the icon of the app that sent the notification; with the possibility of extending it if you press the camera for a second (and access the app with a single tap on the notification). And here another of the disadvantages that we find comes into play: if you have configured the mobile to show the notification area when you pull the screen down, the DynamicSpot gesture can create a conflict.
