To celebrate The Last of Us, which coincides with the cosmic date of the damage caused by the Cordyceps infection, HBO and Naughty Dog have released a brand new trailer for the upcoming The Last of Us series.
The trailer is less than two minutes long and showcases Joel and Ellie along with some of their antagonists. Additionally, we got a closer look at what the live-action Clickers in the adaptation look like, albeit briefly.
We now obviously know Pedro Pascal is stepping into Joel’s place, with Bella Ramsay playing Ellie, but over the past few months we’ve seen other information trickle in. Not only have we seen some clips of the show, but we’ve also seen Lamar Johnson and Kevin Woodard as the actors behind Henry and Sam.
That said, this trailer is our first full-length trailer from HBO, and it gives us our first thorough look at what to expect.
The Last of Us Day celebration also saw Naughty Dog share new wallpapers inspired by the game, a variety of fun GIFs recreated with the TLOU character, and an entire album of fan screenshots. If you like to take a look, and also read what Naughty Dog has to say about their IP rather warmly, they shared everything in a recent blog post.
“We are so honored to celebrate The Last of Us community every year with #TLOUDay,” Naughty Dog said in a blog post. “Coming back to the edge of the universe – with all the gratitude and gratitude for our incredible community – endure and survive.”
