South Korean giant Nexon seems to be showing off the big game in a big way.The latest this week is Warhaven, a 16v16 multiplayer fighting game whose gameplay is somewhat familiar, but not so familiar. As Korean games tend to be, Warhaven is graphically impressive, especially compared to some of the games it was inspired by.
Warhaven looks like it’s mostly going to follow For Honor, albeit with more players, more objectives and some fantasy elements along with standard melee combat.
The game is centered on an objective mode, where four players in squads of four attempt to use a variety of battlefield weapons to clash with enemy teams, advance territory, and enter an old-school melee. There are six classes to choose from, each offering unique combat advantages and a different visual style.
A bit standard so far, but what’s more interesting in Warhaven is that by accumulating points you can effectively build an ultimate meter. When you have enough, you can transform into your immortal form and use your divine powers to push things further into fantasy realm. You can also find four different immortal forms.
If any of these sound like a good fit for you, you’ll probably be happy to know that Warhaven is about to begin its global beta testing. The test is only available on PC from October 12th until November 2nd. To participate, simply request access on Warhaven’s Steam page.
It’s also a rich pack, with four maps and three different modes to view. The developers recently hosted a live gameplay session that gave a good look at the different mechanics, classes, maps, and modes.
