Yesterday night the preview of Android 11 was a surprise, a new version of Android that will be launched in a stable way, according to the update calendar, in the third quarter of this by 2020, after a six-bet. We were able to install this beta on Google's Google Pixel 3a XL, taking a few hours to work with it.
Let us tell you our first appearance with Android 11, a preview that doesn't bring much change compared to Android 10, but does come with some interesting commentary details.
Without too many changes at the physical level
Android 11 Configuration Assistant, at least as Google has entered for the pixels in this preview, Same with Android 10. Language, WiFi, account settings, Always Display, etc. We configure the cell phone and head to the main desk that is started, in theory, in two pages in case of Pixels.
Android usually doesn't make major changes to the UI from one version to another, much smaller at first glance. However, some preview experiences allow us to assume that there will be noticeable changes (albeit small) in future betas
Here again we find no changes at the physical level (Currently). Icons remain the same, the app drawer still shows suggestions at the top and left-hand desktop we have Google Feed. In future betas we will see if there are changes to the UI level, but nothing around here.
Regarding the notification bar, a lot of the same. Thumbnails, grid, banners and others are of the same type as in previous versions. Changes are coming at operational levels, something we will talk about later.
When we talk about the settings menu, more of the same. In fact we have the same distribution of Android 10 at different stages, with the search bar at the top of the settings. Of course, some components such as, for example, mode do not crash, and are redistributed. In particular, in this mode, we now get the wrong settings and many options.
In short, Reduced changes in UI, something that will change in the following versions, as Google always does during the maturity process of its new version of Android.
Changes the user will see
Although the UI change is noteworthy, there are a few functions that users can start using with this new version of Android. The first is that, ultimately, The program lets you record a screen from the notification bar. If we click & # 39; edit & # 39; in this bar, we will see a shortcut to this function, so just press it to have the phone start recording the screen.
That is commendable Google tells us that, when you record a screen, you have access to all the information in it, such as passwords, payment information, photos and others. When we click & # 39; It Begins Now & # 39 ;, it starts recording. How can we know if you're recording a screen? A small red icon showing the recording took place.
Stopping the recording may take place on the recording itself or in the shortcut we provided to boot
To stop recording we have to double-notify the notification bar, once to press it once and for quick access to the recording. Another way is to move the notification bar and provide leave the notification itself.
One of the most ambitious changes comes from the hand of a dark theme, which is now down to us. Here we find three ways. The first is to never work, the second is activate from dawn. In this mode, the Pixel is based on information about our timetable, determining when the night falls and applies a dark theme to that band.
The last is a new mode, which allows us set a custom time for a dark theme. In other words, we can change the start time and the end time. The point of curiosity is that Google reflects that pure black battery theme saves battery, even though the dark theme of their apps is not pure black, but gray.
In addition to these changes, we have a new permissions management system, the latter being "always allowed". We now have only one use permit and permissions when using the system, a small private leap.
Some hidden features
In addition to screen recording and editable black mode, there are other functions that can be tested, but are less visible. The first is that the possibilities for applying in the sharing menu. Probably, when you are going to share the file with the Android menu, you have some common applications.
Now we can set apps in this menu so that he may appear first among the first. It is an easy way to enable the user to choose which applications to share.
Following these activities we reach bubbles in notifications. For now It is not a very effective arrangement as it has enough bugs and the way to ask for it is not very healthy, but it opens several doors. With the long press in the messaging app, three options will appear: show as bubble, postponement notification and silence. If we press & # 39; Show as bubble & # 39; The dialog will go to the bathtub on the side of the device. After clicking on it, it will open in a pop-up window.
As we have already mentioned, the work is very crude and the use is not final. However, it seems to be a great way to have some dialogs available to provide them with one tap from any app, since Bubble dresses over applications.
Finally, an important, but not unnoticed, new thing Flight mode is no longer available for Bluetooth, something annoying happening on Android 10 that left you without a Bluetooth connection when we wanted the phone to have no network connection.
Here are a few words of the program
Talk about developer preview for Android 11 (R) speak fluently, which is good news, because it rarely happens. However, in recent years Google seems to have added a key to make, at least for Pixels, the new versions are either fully functional, or even stable. Photos, animations, touch reactions, opening times … Everything works out great, though there are some bugs with the work that have yet to be completed.
While it's difficult to measure, we have noticed that this version is more complete than Android 10 itself, at least on the Pixel 3a XL. If you keep up with this lineup, Android 11 may be the most fluid version of Android.
Major changes for Android 11 are yet to come but, being the first version, it is a very successful ROM
That should be considered new features for Android 11, such as traditional support for identity verification, greater biometric compatibility, different application storage, new 5G APIs and other changes that, at the user level, are not seen in this preview. However, Android 11 is a good evolution that is going to follow a positive trend going into the third quarter of 2020, when we will know the last genre.
