The Apple Watch is the the best-selling smartwatch in the world. It has performance radically superior to any model of another brand of similar price. However, the improvement curve over the previous model has diminished to the point where you can think of buying the previous generation. Let’s solve it by putting the two generations face to face.
Apple Watch Series 7
If we compare to each other, we see that they are almost identical. Both outside and inside. Even the chip is the same (but with a different name).
We’re going to see what the strengths and features of two of the company’s latest models are, the Apple Watch Series 7 and the Apple Watch Series 8.

The fundamental differences are two:
- Accident detection
- Temperature sensor
These characteristics are very good, but it is up to everyone to decide whether or not they justify the price difference from one model to another. The Apple Watch Series 7 is available now for $399 in its 45mm version on Amazon Europe.
The Apple Watch Series 8 of the same size at Apple costs $539. Is it worth paying the extra $140 for a temperature sensor (which does not serve as a thermometer) and the accident detection? Each situation is different and you have to analyze individually whether it is worth it or not. Keep in mind that the 7 series offers virtually the same that the Series 8 costs almost a third less.
The Apple Watch is a great accessory, but its pace of hardware advancement has been slow, especially in recent years. That’s why, if you want to update yours, a 7 series is still a very good optionespecially when comparing prices.
