MultiVersus got tons of new characters, with drunken scientist Rick Sanchez from the adult time warp cartoon Rick & Morty is the latest addition to the Warner Bros. crossover fighter. The roster expansion won’t stop there, however, as datamining has been suggesting for some time that characters like Gandalf, Mad Max and the Joker are also planned for the game. Now, however, a dataminer has apparently uncovered voice lines for The Joker that sound damn like actor Mark Hamill’s iconic rendition of the character, suggesting the game may be getting one of the most popular incarnations of the Clown Prince of Crime.

Dataminer Laisul, that leaked to Rick before MultiVersus‘ newest fighterHe took to Twitter to share his findings. With a short 30 second clip, Laisul revealed the announcer pack voice lines for The Joker. Announcer packs are not actual lines that characters speak in combat. Think of them as skins instead, Replace the default announcer with any fighter of your choice Provide in-game comments. Though the video is short, you can hear the Joker energetically saying things like “Guess you lost that, Bucko!” And if you listen closely, it really does sound like Mark Hamill’s distinctive singing style bringing the character to life here.
There is no official confirmation as to whether The Joker will join the roster, nor whether Mark Hamill will be voicing the character. For all we know, the psychopathic criminal’s announcer pack voice lines could be a Mark Hamill soundalike, although if it is, it’s a very good one. Developer Player First Games is committed to getting as many original voice actors as possible to reprise their roles. Maybe Hamill was tapped for this? Only time will tell, especially as Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has yet to comment on the leak. Like Laisul said, we might wait a while longer my box he expects them Not releasing anytime soon, Joker is “probably a Season 2 or Season 3 character.”

Hamill reprized the role for decades, though he briefly retired the character in October 2011. Rocksteady Studios Batman Arkham City was supposed to be his last portrayal of the deranged clown, but he’s since returned, appearing in 2016’s animated thriller Batman: The Deadly Joke and the action-adventure platformer of 2018 Lego DC Super Villains.
