Sony seems to be serious about the announcement that it will launch several live service games at the same time. The developers of the PC port of God of War are apparently working on one of these.
What is always found between the lines … this time it is about a job advertisement from Jetpack Interactive. Not an unknown studio, because Jetpack was responsible for the extremely successful PC port of God of War, among other things.
The job posting makes it quite clear that Jetpack is working on a Live Services game for Playstation: “We’re excited to be tackling a new Live Services title with Sony – and we’re ready to launch. If you have a Are an experienced game developer and want to join our team to develop a AAA title, get in touch!”
The same LinkedIn post also mentions that this is said to be one of Sony Playstation’s flagship brands. About what? One does not know. But the tender matches Playstation boss Jim Ryan’s statement that several live service games are in the works. Two of these are to be announced in the current financial year (until March 2023). By 2025, they want to get a total of ten such titles rolling.
In the past, Sony had paid less attention to the topic, but it now seems to have realized that it can generate quite a bit of sales and customer loyalty.
