news culture Amouranth: The Twitch star accuses Twitter of censorship!
Famed streamer Amouranth takes Twitter to task in a recent series of posts. After Kaitlyn Siragusa replied to a user of the platform, she commented on the system previously operated by Twitter, which in her opinion corresponded neither more nor less to censorship. Explanations.
A social media pro
We no longer feature the famous streamer Kaitlyn “amourant” Siragusa, present on Twitch since 2016. Videographer, cosplayer, and ASMR creator, Amouranth is known for both her content and her antics.
Over the years and after accumulating hundreds of millions of views, Kaitlyn Siragusa is now at the head of a veritable web empire and is becoming increasingly popular thanks to Twitch, but also her other social networks such as Twitter or Onlyfans.
Recently, the videographer was back in the conversation after a small update targeting Twitter. According to the data subject, today the platform would run a system that would censor the work of makers and makers of the web.
The default mode, a handicap for content creators
To respond to a Twitter user about visible and hidden content, Amouranth offered his views on the system used by the platform. In their opinion, the type of content visibility that Twitter offers by default corresponds to censorship.
Again, I do this for a living. I have studied this subject DEEPLY. I also investigated the effects of default settings/selections.
Internet Explorer has held a huge market share for decades because default values…
Google pays Apple tens of billions a year because?

Asking users to change a default system is censorship. Promoting content in this way makes a huge difference. I set the defaults for this account to see what was or was not censored. If I engage or retweet (the censored content) too much, my account performance will be throttled. Again, I’ve researched the problem thoroughly. I also researched the effects of default settings and choices. (…)
Amouranth goes on to specifically cite Internet Explorer’s longevity, which she explains in terms of the default settings offered by Windows. I’m not sure if Amouranth’s statements change anything for Twitter. Still, the streamer is definitely among the individuals who could be heard from the platform.
