CD Projekt RED has just set the release window for The Witcher 4 and with it its sequels. This is where the game could at least come to you.
CD Projekt RED continues to play the transparency card. The Polish publisher recently presented its numerous projects in development. In addition to the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel, the teams are busy on several adaptations of The Witcher, including The Witcher 4. Today the studio’s president enlightens us on the release date of the first installment of the future trilogy.
The Witcher 4 will be released at least in 2025
The Witcher 4 continues to be discussed. The internally aptly named Polaris marks the beginning of a new trilogy. The developers confirmed this week that the episodes of this saga will be released six years after the release of the first opus. One question then burned on everyone’s lips, when could The Witcher 4 be launched? Adam Kiciński provides part of the answer.
Asked about the topic by IGN, the president of the studio has confirmed that it will be necessary to wait at least 3 years before being able to play it. ” For Polaris (note: The Witcher 4) we are preparing the technology. This is the first project to be released with the new engine, Unreal Engine 5, so there is an additional workload to create this technology. We will clearly have to make additional effortsit,” he explained.
According to him, the development of the second and third new games in the trilogy will be easier thanks to this new technology. In any case, CD Proket RED is optimistic about a release of The Witcher 4 in 2025. However, the title could still take some time depending on how the teams manage to capture the Unreal Engine 5. In any case, it seems to be moving forward as the game is already in the pre-production phase.
