Nintendo’s trailer for That Super Mario Bros. Movie is finally in the world, and so is Chris Pratt absolutely normal-Buddy Mario voice. First look hasn’t explained why everyone’s favorite Italian plumber lost his ass, but it does seem to confirm the recent leak of a Mario movie calendar by an alleged McDonald’s.s contributors on the ConnorEatsPans Discord. That means we might now have a pretty good idea of what Princess Peach looks like, too. Here’s why.
Our first glimpse of what the film would look like came when Nintendo teased today’s Direct alongside a poster for the film earlier this week. It featured the Mushroom Kingdom, a bunch of toads, and most importantly, Mario, but only his butt. Then yesterday someone leaked an image of Mario’s actual face as he was supposed to appear on screen. It didn’t look quite right while also looking too weird to be fake.
Where did the leak come from?
OK, stay with me now. There is a Twitch streamer called ConnorEatsPants who has his own discord. Someone claiming to be a McDonald’ss employee apparently posted the promotional graphics in the channel. “Yo I work at Maccas right,” Bob (God’s Friend) posted. Then eat ConnorPants shared it on Twitter, and fans came down to analyze the art. Many thought it was too detailed to create in Photoshop literally overnight, and now we know they were right.

So, ConnorEatsPants is a popular Twitch streamer that has grown big in competition Minecraft Tournaments and streaming everything from Nintendo games to now Appreciation. He doesn’t eat pants. This is an allusion to an episode of iCarly where the teacher, Mr. Howard, loses his shit after someone says “Mr. Howard eats panties” on the dry-erase board. He has a Discord, and people post all sorts of stuff there, including leaks from McDonald’ss.
The leak also features Princess Peach
While the ConnorEatsPants leaker originally only released a small, blurry snippet of Mario’s face, it turns out the image was of a much larger piece of promotional art on top of one Super Mario Bros. Movie Calendar.
Most importantly, it also features Princess Peach’s face, and she also looks vaguely trapped in the eerie valley. Some people think they do looks like a disney princess. Almost everyone agrees that she looks extremely healthy, possibly too healthy to be in a Mario movie alongside Chris Pratt (Princess Peach is voiced by Anya Taylor-Joy).
What does it all mean?
Well, for one thing, everyone is dying to see Nintendo reveal the rest of the film’s legendary cast. When Mario’s mustache looks so detailed, between the individual hairs and the way the light filters through those thick, brown strands, can you just imagine what Donkey Kong could look like? Will his ass be MIA too? We also only saw Luigi for a split second in the official trailer. Will Charlie Day’s version be as underrated as Pratt’s?
The Super Mario Bros. Movie is animated by Illumination, the studio behind the Despicable Me Franchise. But instead of going the Minion route and keeping Mario’s cartoon CGI look from the latest games, something almost hyper-realistic, like fans Try to recreate the series in ultra high definition Unreal Engine demos.
But most importantly, it probably means we could get another leak or two from McDonald’s.s in the coming months leading up to the April 7, 2023 premiere date. But don’t bother anyone who works there so, they’ve been through enough.
