editing tweets is now possible on Twitter, we tested it

editing, tested, tweets,

Editing an already posted tweet was impossible without editing a screenshot with a photo editor. But, with the introduction of the edit button, Twitter changed the story: correction of errors in messages begins to be possible. Of course, Twitter Blue is essential.

Editing what you write is fundamental in social contexts, but it is not included in all popular apps. Without going any further, the ubiquitous WhatsApp still does not allow editing (it is in testing). And Twitter, another of the platforms that drags the most demand for editions, either. At least until now, that all changes for a few.

Editing tweets is possible, but only if you pay

Edit Twitter tweets

It no longer comes back to us that Twitter has already taken care of anticipating it according to the words of Blue, the platform’s premium subscription. As it appeared in the first edited tweet, messages can be modified at will by their owner to correct an error, expand information, or completely edit the tweet. But a trace remains, the edition is not indelible.

So you can permanently delete your Twitter account from your mobile

Tweets can now be edited, yes, but it is essential to pay Twitter Blue; a subscription that can only be purchased in the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. We have it and we were able to access the long-awaited edition, so we did it in some tweets. And it works perfectly.

Edit Twitter tweets

Twitter allows you to edit what has already been posted without losing sight of the original content or relevant edits that have been made up to the tweet that is finally seen in the chronology. The reader can see at a glance which tweets have been edited. And also can read the whole story: the track never disappears from Twitter.

The edit button for tweets follows the following operating premises:

  • Twitter lets you edit any tweet yourself after half an hour of posting. Once the said half hour has passed, the message does not admit any more editions.
  • Each tweet can be edited up to five times. This is the limit: Twitter does not support a sixth rewrite.
  • Edited tweets have a pencil icon. Whenever you see this icon in a tweet, it means the owner of the post edited it after posting it.
  • Twitter keeps the edit history of each edited tweet. In order for everyone to see what was in the original tweet, Twitter makes it possible to read it by clicking on the “Last edited” tab, which appears just below the message.

The feature is now available on Twitter Blue for subscribers. And the edited tweets appear in the apps: pencil icon indicates messages have been edited. It’s convenient to watch this icon, especially with accounts used to spouting misinformation.
