Hideo Kojima is teasing his next game, which many believe is death stranding 2.
Kojima’s first tease came at TGS 2022 in September, with a poster featuring a face-covered silhouette emblazoned with the words “Who am I” (thanks, Polygon).
In PAX Australia currently underway, there is a QR code that, when scanned, an image posted on the Kojima Productions website shows a picture of Elle Fanning (The Great) printed with the same Text.
But at PAX Aus there is another poster with the outline and face covered and the words “Where am I” printed on it.
Kojima even tweeted the images, while a producer at Kojima Productions retweeted Kojima’s tweet with the hashtags #DeathStranding and #WhereAmI. Of course, the producer’s tweet has been deleted.
It seems Kojima is starting to tease more about his studio’s next project, leading many to believe that a Death Stranding 2 announcement is just around the corner. What a great place to host such a big announcement at The Game Awards 2022 in December. However, we are only speculating.
Death Stranding 2 was previously teased by Death Stranding and The Walking Dead star Norman Reedus, and it was quasi-confirmed.Earlier this year, the actor said the game was in development and said Kojima was “just getting started. [on the] the second. This isn’t the first time Reedus has mentioned a sequel. Back in August 2021, he reportedly said that Death Stranding 2 was currently “in talks.”
Then just this week, a reliable leaker said the game was indeed in development, codenamed “Oceans.”
While it would be easy to say that Death Stranding 2 is in development, Kojima may be teasing another game currently in development for the Xbox. The game is said to be brand new and will “utilize the cloud”. However, Kojima says this particular game is still a long way off, so it’s likely these teases are for a sequel to his studio’s first outing.
Hopefully everything will be revealed soon so we can stop guessing.
