Square Enix warning final fantasy 14 Players who have attempted hacks and are advised to change their passwords for everyone with an account.
According to the company, it is currently under attack by third parties trying to gain access to Square Enix’s account management system. They do this by using a combination of email addresses and passwords they may have obtained from “another company’s online service.”
Square recommends against using the same email address and password combination for your Square Enix account as for other online services, as this increases the likelihood of unauthorized access to your account by third parties. That said, if your password contains simple patterns, character sequences, or your DOB, the risk of your account being accessed is still high.
If you happen to use the same email address and password combination on your Square Enix account as you use on other services, or if the password you use is easily guessable, you should change your password immediately.
Square said it is currently mitigating the impact of the attack by restricting access to accounts it believes may have been compromised by unauthorized users. If you find that your Square Enix account login is restricted, we will send an email to your account registered email address with instructions for resetting your password.
When creating passwords, it is best to use combinations of characters that are not easily recognized. It helps if you use a sentence or a question where only you know the answer – but use a combination of different characters that is difficult to decipher. Or you can even create a silly password like “Iliketoeat6754CornontheCob$#!+onsunny018*+afterNoons”. or something like that.
The company said it may reset passwords for all Square Enix accounts if unauthorized access attempts continue to increase.
