Good news from Valve. So far you had to wait a long time for a steam deck and only got it after reservation. That’s over now and there’s also a docking station.
The agonizing reservation process of ordering a Steam deck is over. As confirmed by Valve via Twitter, reservations are no longer required with immediate effect. That means you can now order the Steam Deck as normal on the website and you can count on faster delivery.
The reservations were initially necessary due to supply shortages that prevented Valve from meeting demand. But now the processes have stabilized to such an extent that the quantities produced can cover demand. However, Valve emphasizes that reservations could become necessary again if new bottlenecks arise.
And there’s more good news, because now that’s out as well official docking station for the steam deck
The docking station, which costs 99 dollars, has an angled USB-C power supply with pass-through charging function, three USB-A 3.1 ports, as well as HDMI and DisplayPort connections. In addition, there is a specially adapted, scratch-resistant rubber mold that is intended to ensure optimal protection for the steam deck.
