Fallout turned 25 on October 10th. Appropriately, the development studio New Blood publishes a small excerpt from their current project. That is strikingly reminiscent of the beginnings of the Fallout series.

What do we know about the ominous game?

New Blood’s current project doesn’t have an official name yet – but we can now take a closer look at a new 30-second video of the game. The studio’s CEO, Dave Oshry, tweeted a short snippet of the title:

The material shown is very reminiscent of the old Fallout games. Not only the 1950s-style car, but also the user interface at the bottom of the screen is clearly inspired by the RPG series before Bethesda took the reins.

First-person combat system

A new detail from the video: The perspective of the battles is more reminiscent of the newer Fallout games. They take place in the first person perspective, as we can see in the new clip.

This should make the slow and clunky combat system from the old Fallout games a little more exciting – but the battles should still be turn-based, as Oshry clarifies in his tweet. So, can we expect an old-school fallout but with the newer VATS system?
