How far can a lie go? Anyone would say that very little, but the truth is that it has lasted much longer than we thought in the case of Demon’s Souls. Chieftain’s Ring is the name of the ring that emerged from his mind and from nowhere in Boletaria, but he claimed that it could be obtained after buying it from Yurt. Of course, it was necessary to keep the character alive until the end of the game. When in doubt, the content creator shared the following image in 2014:

Supposedly, a player shared an image of the ring with him, which seemed to prove the veracity of the mysterious object. However, the user Illusory Wall investigated the game files, finding 26 textures for rings, he searched through the unused material and did not come across any evidence.
He dug so hard that he checked all the effects associated with rings and none matched the increase in strength and defense that Chieftain’s Ring promised. The conclusion was obvious then and today: a joke stretched like bubblegum on Peeve’s part.
Surprise in the remake
Yes, we are talking about a nice anecdote that was lost in time, but now it has returned to the scene. Thanks to the jailbreak made to PS5, the user Garden of Eyes has found the render of the Chieftain’s Ring in the Demon’s Souls files from Bluepoint Games. That is, the studio knows the joke and has incorporated it into the revision of the classic.

As Lance McDonald indicates, the existence of the ring has been known for a year in the archives, but it is the first time that we can see a model of it. It is not yet clear if we are talking about clipped content that has been scattered or if there really is a way to obtain it.
