When Chris Roberts wanted to visit the GameStar editorial team ten years ago to show his new project Star Citizen, he almost brushed him off: Chris who? Does anyone else know him?
But space nerd Michael Graf jumped up: Hello, Chris Roberts made Wing Commander and Freelancer, of course we welcome him (and cover the pilot’s jumpsuit of silence about his Wing Commander film)!
The rest is history, Star Citizen is now a monstrous and unique project with over half a billion crowdfunding dollars. And still light years away from completion.

In the podcast, Michael and Peter discuss with Star Citizen expert and streamer Knebel (known from Youtube and Twitch), what has happened in the ten years since the announcement, and how we feel about Star Citizen, which seems to be making similar rapid progress as continental plates.
However, the progress is not as sluggish as Knebel swears: If you look closely, you will see major leaps and an increasingly mature technical basis, especially in recent years. At the same time, there is cause for criticism, including in terms of communication on the part of the developers.
Roberts & Co. have even closed themselves off from us journalists – probably not because they fear bad reporting, but to avoid raising false expectations.
