WB Games Montreal shares some interesting tidbits Gotham Knights yesterday.
the first is November 29th release date For the game’s arena-based experience, Heroic Assault, up to four players can participate in co-op.
It seems that the four-player co-op mode will be limited to that mode, as the main game can only be played solo or two-player online co-op as it doesn’t have local co-op. Additionally, Heroic Assault is a game mode separate from the main story campaign and offers a dedicated arena-like environment with specific objectives and enemies to defeat across 20 floors.
So if you’re looking to play the main campaign with your three friends, this is not the way to go.
Another interesting tidbit has to do with the console version of the game. Apparently, Gotham Knights doesn’t have a performance mode despite only being available on newer-gen systems, which is odd given the many new games coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
Also, it can only run at 30 FPS.
According to the game’s executive producer Fleur Marty (thanks, Wario 64), due to the types of features available in the game, such as a completely untethered co-op experience in a “highly detailed open world”, it’s not as simple as “lowering the resolution and getting a higher FPS”.
For this reason, the game will have no performance options and will run at 30FPS on the console.
Gotham Knights is coming to PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/s on October 21st.
