Bungie continues to strive to revise game elements from Destiny 2 or even throw them out of the game completely. In the coming season, some materials will be at risk.
Bungie has once again published the weekly devblog and announced that there will be serious changes again in the coming season 19 in December. Bungie throws the materials that you have collected on the planets so far from the game. So end farming for turning metal, helium filaments or spirit blossoms.
While you will still be able to exchange your leftover stocks for Glimmer, the materials can no longer be collected and are no longer required for anyth ing. This flies an element out of the game that was basically there from the beginning.
Bungie decided to take this step to further purge currencies after introducing numerous new game elements to keep the game accessible. Since the materials have always been good for collecting Glimmer as well, their departure is offset by the fact that there’s far more Glimmer to collect from public events. Incidentally, the nodes where you have previously collected materials remain in the game – instead of materials, they will soon give you Glimmer, XP and reputation, similar to the osmium nodes in the throne world.
Apart from that, there are serious changes in weapon balancing for the current season. With the upcoming update 6.2.5, all weapon classes will get some buffs and nerfs, which should turn the current meta around again. Some exotics like Jade Rabbit, Lord of the Wolves or No Time for Explanations are also missing changes. You can do that in detail in the current This Week at Bungie read.
