Twitch streamer, content creator, and Guilty Gear Strive gatekeeper Devil Obama Recently started lighting up the busiest pedestrian crossing in the world: Shibuya Crossing. As part of a series of Twitch campaigns in Japan, Mr. Obama was rewarded with plastering their streams and faces around bustling Tokyo.

A longtime fight with gamers and a former English teacher, the Devil Obama has grown to become one of the community’s most charismatic creators. In addition to their streaming work, they’ve produced videos on a variety of trending topics, including the recent Street Fighter 6 closed beta, the “official FGC certification exam,” and a guide on how to get rich on Twitch after earnings leaked late last year.

Reaching out to him via a Twitter DM, Majin Obama expressed his “proud but also lucky” feeling that Shibuya’s shiny screen affirmed their wealth and work in their careers. “I think I’ve come a long way in more than one area since I started streaming, but I’m fortunate to have grown a strong community with it.”

The community came together to celebrate the occasion, sharing videos and screenshots of Majin Obama dressed in a spectacular black and white Arabic robe and headscarf as he lit up the skyline. Obama, however, made sure to take some time off the internet to visit the billboards with his offline friends, just like anyone.

As for what’s next for streaming, they have big plans for 2022 and beyond. “For my stream, I want to continue to do what we’ve been doing, play fighting games, clear some games, some IRL — but I also want to be more diverse, get out of my comfort zone, and innovate. I’m going to use my There’s resources and space here to do something crazier and more experimental, so look forward to it!” As you know, the next few months will be huge for fighting games, with Street Fighter 6 and even Project L in the genre. ripples in the ecosystem.

“Other than that, 2023 is going to be a big year for me. I want to start traveling again, attending locals/fg events and other events around the world.”
