After the announcement, things got quiet about the DualSense Edge. Now Sony has announced the release date of the Pro Controller and goes into more detail about its features. And reveals the quite pithy price.
So now it’s official, on January 26, 2023 the DualSense Edge will be launched worldwide. You can pre-order Sony’s Pro Controller and direct counterparts to Microsoft’s Elite Controller in exactly one week from October 25th at selected retailers. However, the price has also changed a lot, the official recommendation is a whopping 239.99 dollars.

But what do you get for your money? Hopefully a lot, considering the sum. As expected, you can reassign all keys to adapt the input device exactly to your needs. The stick attachments are also interchangeable. You already know all this from the Xbox counterpart. But Sony goes one step further and even lets you replace the stick modules. The spare parts cost 24.99 dollars. Not cheap either, but they add to the longevity of your controller.
The exact contents of the packaging are as follows:
- DualSense Edge Wireless-Controller
- Braided USB cable
- 2 standard caps
- 2 high round caps
- 2 low round caps
- 2 semicircular back keys
- 2 lever return buttons
- connector housing
- protective bag
The USB cable offers another feature: a lock prevents it from coming loose from the controller. You can also use the peripherals to control your audio, switch between profiles and much more. Backpaddles are of course also included. All in all, a nice package that Sony has put together. The price is still more than hefty and should make many players think twice about buying it. Notwithstanding the strong features.
