After a long wait, during which the way of capturing clips and screens on Xbox consoles hasn’t been as good as it should be, it looks like the flight is on again. Just yesterday we reported improvements to the Xbox mobile app that let you trim clips before sharing them, but mysteriously all of those features that Xbox One previously had have been lost or adapted. We still miss the Xbox DVR Web, remember?
However, the whole DVR has been modernized and we now have the clips and captures available on our mobiles within minutes, but the console display wasn’t the best, and that’s what the new upgrade update available to Xbox Insiders that adds a new section, in the form of an app, called “Captures”. Below, famed Tom Warren of The Verge shared how this new app works.
Significant improvements to the Xbox Series and Xbox One DVR system
The improvement on this occasion focuses on the capture library itself, which reflects this new application, which can be found in the My games and applications section or through the Guide itself. The first thing you’ll notice is faster browsing speed, but the best added feature is the ability to quickly copy those videos to an external drive, which you can’t do other than capture them directly to a drive.
On top of that, these Xbox Insiders in the Alpha ring are getting other improvements for Discord, which include improved accessibility to the Chats section of the Guide itself, making everything more integrated. As a round detail, they also added the Ukrainian language to the system, which is currently being tested.
