Netflix has introduced a new feature that allows users to transfer profiles to a separate account. This will be especially useful if someone has stolen your password or someone else is using your account when you don’t want them to.

How to Transfer Profiles to Netflix
Netflix has started rolling out the feature globally, and it should be available to most users in Europe, Andorra, and Latin America. You’ll need to sign in to your Netflix account from a web browser, not through an app.
Here are the steps to follow to transfer a profile:
1. Click on the “Transfer Profile” option from the drop-down menu on the homepage.
By clicking on ‘Account’, you can also access the profile transfer page.
2. Confirm that you want to transfer the profiles.
An email will be sent to the account holder confirming that the profile transfer option has been enabled by clicking “Allow”.
3. Select the profile you want to transfer to a new account in the “Profiles & Parental Controls” section, then click “Transfer”.
As you can see from the screenshot, a backup copy of the profile will still be available on the original account.
4. Enter the email address and password you want to use for the new Netflix account.
Follow the onscreen prompts until the profile transfer process is complete. Netflix will send a confirmation email once everything is complete.
As we said, keep in mind that Netflix will keep a copy of the profile in the original account. As of this writing, a profile cannot be moved to an existing account: it will have to be a new account.
If you need to exit the current process, you can continue to use a web browser to log into Netflix with the email address and password you used to start the process.
Then you will only have to select the option to complete the transfer to continue where you left off.
This is the first step taken by Netflix to limit password sharing. The platform has tested the possibility of adding additional “homes” in Central and South America, as well as other features, but they are not yet official worldwide.
What information is transferred when you transfer a profile to Netflix?

- Content recommendations and suggestions
- history display
- Saved games and game management
- Settings such as languages and subtitles, autoplay, age viewing restrictions, etc.
