One series of trials that can be fought Super Smash Bros. Finally however Death of the Combat. While neither Nintendo nor Masahiro Sakurai ever publicly mentioned the person behind this brutal and bloody battle added to the plan, Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon recently told Shacknews he would "love" to see it happen.
This was his direct response when asked about the cast of characters like Scorpion and Sub-Zero in Smash:
For me personally (I can't talk about all of Warner Bros. or anything), that would be kind of a stamp of approval. It's like being part of a gang and all that. I'd like to see that.
So, with Boon on-board, what are the chances of this actually happening? There is a second round of DLC fighters currently in Smash Bros. development. Ultimate, so there's always a chance.
Saying that, in November last year, Street Fighter Producer Yoshinori Ono revealed that Capcom had rejected Boon's proposal to add Street Fighter's character to Mortal Kombat, because "it wasn't worth it" – did Nintendo feel the same way about adding a character like Scorpion to Smash Bros?
