A case made of titanium: Expected for the iPhone 14, finally reality for the iPhone 15?
Some dishes taste better when reheated. And the same seems to apply to one or the other rumour. At least if it according to Twitter user LeaksApplePro goes. Because in a recently published leak, he predicts that the iPhone 15 will have a titanium frame.
LeaksApplePro’s statement is not unexpected. Already for the iPhone 14, several leaks expected that Apple would at least partially rely on a titanium case. A rumor that ultimately didn’t come true.

The light metal has already carved out a niche for smartphone protection. Titanium protective covers can be purchased from third-party suppliers for both the iPhone and models from the competitor Samsung. However, the fact that Apple installed titanium in the iPhone case ex works would be a novelty.
The advantages of titanium are obvious: the material would only be slightly heavier than the aluminum that has been used up to now. At the same time, however, titanium could ensure a significantly higher resilience.
Additional bonus points for the metal: Titanium is particularly scratch-resistant and is considered by many consumers to be a luxury material, which is not unimportant for Apple’s high-priced iPhones.
However, the mining of titanium is also significantly more expensive than that of many other metals. If Apple opts for a titanium case on the iPhone 15, it could also push up the price of flagship smartphones further.

What else the iPhone 15 should offer
