OnePlus is continuing its policy of expansion, using its Nord brand as a way to appeal to users on tighter budgets. While we recently talked about the OnePlus Nord 2T and how we liked that it had everything we needed, the Nord N300 is now coming with a similar but cheaper approach.

New design and fair features

The Nord N300 represents an evolution compared to the N200 presented last year, it is obvious; but that also means that it should be one of the benchmarks for those who want to shell out less than 300 dollars for a mobile.

The design is perhaps the biggest novelty, as it really isn’t based on its predecessor, but the OnePlus Nord 2; the great advantage is that it is a much more elegant and modern design, in which the set of cameras with two large lenses and flat edges stands out. Interestingly, the change in design also means that the screen no longer has a hole for the camera, but a “drop”, which can be interpreted as a step back or an improvement, depending on your taste.

Speaking of the display, the (slightly larger) 6.56-inch panel stands out for its 90Hz refresh rateincreasingly common even in the lower ranges, even if it is an IPS panel and not an OLED with the most expensive models.

The processor has changed and the Snapdragon 480 has been replaced by a Dimensity 810, confirming the migration to Mediatek that OnePlus is carrying out in several of its devices. It will be accompanied by 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. The massive 5,000mAh battery should see the phone through a day of use without issue, and on top of that, it has 33W fast charging.

As for the aforementioned cameras, this time OnePlus has chosen not to offer special cameras, since in this price range they are generally not good; instead, it focused on the main camera, which goes up to 48MP and is accompanied by a 2MP depth sensor for portrait-like photos. In the hollow of the screen, a 16 MP camera.

The OnePlus Nord N300 will cost $228 in the US, although its launch has yet to be confirmed for Europe.
