Now any of you can buy the PS5. Sony is offering the console in an open sale through PlayStation Direct. We will take you straight to the offer.

The PS5 is now being sold more often than it used to be, but there are still far from enough consoles to supply all buyers. That’s why we’re giving you buying tips in our PS5 insider, informing you about pre-order campaigns and picking up on the latest rumours.

With the right tips and tricks, you can get hold of one of the coveted next-gen consoles so much more easily. We will also show you which alternative providers and raffles you can still find what you are looking for.

12:30 pm: The open sale at PlayStation Direct has probably already ended. We were then sent back to the PlayStation Direct overview page after queuing for a long time. A purchase was no longer possible. But maybe the shop will surprise you again this week with new offers. After all, the sale of the PS5 bundle with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is still pending. More information can be found below in this article.

12:00 o’clock: The closed sale on PlayStation Direct has ended, now the open sale begins. That means: Each of you can strike now, even without an invitation. The following link will take you directly to the offers. But hurry is required. Experience has shown that the stocks are quickly sold out.

11:15 am: The PlayStation Direct closed sale continues. Some users report error messages on the shop website when trying to add one of the offers to the shopping cart. You can remedy this by trying to access the shop using a different device or browser. Be persistent and, if in doubt, try several times in a row.

10:45 am: The time has come. As reported by several users registered with PlayStation Direct, PS5 sales have now started in Sony’s own shop. For the time being, only registered users who have previously received an invitation from Sony may strike. But the chances are good that there will be an open sale for everyone afterwards.

According to the invited users, only the PS5 Standard Edition (without the game) and the bundle with the PS5 Standard Edition and FIFA 23 are sold so far. But some also report that they were able to get hold of a PS5 in the Digital Edition beforehand. It remains to be seen whether more bundles will go on sale.

09:20 am: The PlayStation Direct drop is probably faster than expected. According to current reports, some users registered with the Sony shop yesterday received invitations for a sale that starts today at 10:30 am should start. If you are also registered with PlayStation Direct, you should check your mail and spam folder. Maybe you got an invitation too.

We cannot currently confirm whether this sale actually includes the said PS5 bundle with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Other bundles or just the console could also be sold.

About the process: At 10:30 a.m., it is likely that only users registered with PlayStation Direct will be able to take advantage of the offer with an invitation. However, since such a closed sale has often led to an open sale in recent times, you should definitely try your luck even without an invitation.

There could be such an open sale as early as around 11:00 a.m. Usually, however, the open sale does not start until around noon, around 12:00 p.m. But you shouldn’t rely on that. Our tip: Whether you have an invitation or not, stay tuned from 10:30 a.m. so as not to miss your chance.

09:00 am: Are you dissatisfied with the classic PS5 controller? Then Sony now offers you an alternative, the DualSense Edge controller for PS5. This is a special version of the controller with lots of customization options, similar to the PS4 Scuf controller. The new controller is not scheduled to be released until January 26, 2023, but you should be able to pre-order it from today.

If you wish to pre-order, you can do so via PlayStation Direct. Provided, of course, that you have the wherewithal, because the controller costs a whopping 240 dollars. Advance sales are scheduled to start later today.

08:35 am: Yesterday there was a big sale at Media Markt and Saturn, but the contingents there are now sold out again. But another big drop is already on the horizon: a new PlayStation Direct sale. Sony itself provided information on this.

Sony has announced that an exclusive PS5 bundle will soon be launched together with the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. The release of such a bundle is very likely, especially before or at the latest when the game is released. Since the shooter is scheduled for release on October 28th, the sale should be completed by then.

As Sony further confirmed, the bundle should first be sold via PlayStation Direct. We think the PlayStation Direct sale will take place either today, Wednesday or Thursday. If you don’t already have it, be sure to register with PlayStation Direct for a better chance of selling it.

But not only registered users can hope to dust off a PS5 bundle. For the last two sales in October, after a drop for registered users, there was also an open sale for non-registered buyers.

The big wave of PS5 sales in recent weeks was also noticeable on platforms such as eBay and the Amazon Marketplace. The offer is currently higher than it has been for a long time. Thus, resellers are forced to lower their prices. However, we advise caution when buying a console this way. Be sure to check the sellers.
