New Elden Ring patch nerfs Endure Ash of War and trying to fix Inescapable Frenzy…again

A new Elden Ring patch has just been released, eager to fix several buggy spots in the game that make both PvP and PvE content lighthearted. Target? Ashes of Warwhich completely neutralizes the oncoming attack and flips their heads in an online duel, and inescapable frenzy Although there are many nerfs pushing it down, it’s still not quite right.

Patch 1.07.1 Available now, which means players will need to restart their game and download the update to receive these fixes and play online. It’s a sad time for anyone who’s been abusing Endure lately, but good news for everyone else.

Still can’t get enough Elden Rings? There’s a board game in the works!

But what exactly is the story behind Ash of War Endure? Well, as of patch 1.07, you can use it to get a full attack invulnerability window. It was fine before patch 1.07, but with that patch it increased its duration to 3 seconds (enough for big heals or unpunished attacks), and removed the use of blood loss or freeze effects to Against its options, it turns you into an unstoppable juggernaut.

So people apparently brought it to PvP and wreaked havoc. With a three-second attack that’s invulnerable, you can easily deal with any incoming attack and make the fight one-sided. The fix for this was fast, and frankly, thank God.

Inevitable Madness also revamped this patch, and while it hasn’t had much impact on the meta lately, it’s a spell with a full OP history and devastating nerfs. In the past, it scaled with the crit modifier on your main hand weapon, meaning you could slap a good dagger and use it against a one-shot person. Later, players discovered that you could use the Seal of Frenzy on your off-hand for a similar effect.

The nerf this time around isn’t to stop any drama, just fix the FP reduction as you’re not losing the expected amount, but it’s interesting how much this particular spell has proved a pain point in past patches. Who would have thought a grapple could be such a restraint?

That’s it for the patch! Did this change your build in any way? Let us know below and if you have any horror stories from Endure abusers in PvP!
