Dragon Age Dreadwolf is now playable from start to finish

Age, Dragon, Dreadwolf, Finish, playable, start

One of the games we most expect to see in 2023 is Dragon Age Dreadwolf. The fourth installment in Bioware’s RPG saga has been in the oven for a few years now and it looks like we can expect to be able to play it next year. Or at least that’s what the latest news on the game reveals, where we see how it burns through development stages at a good pace.

If a few months ago we told you that the developer had confirmed that the game was halfway through development, today he confirmed a new milestone: it is already in alpha phase.

Dragon Age Dreadwolf is already in alpha phase

It means that, internally at least, Dragon Age Dreadwolf is already fully playable. As Garay McKay, CEO of Bioware, comments in the blog by EAIt is at this stage of development that the entire game comes together for the first time and can be fully experienced, from the first mission to the title’s final cutscenes.

So far, we’ve been hard at work on the different parts of the game. In Euros, it’s not until the Alpha milestone that an entire game comes together. Now, for the first time, we can experience the full game, from the opening scenes of the first mission to the very end. We can all see, hear, smell and touch as one cohesive experience.

So now the studio is focused on bringing Dragon Age Dreadwolf to the level of visual fidelity they have in mind. That is, the final form in which it will reach us, as well as the main features of the game.

But this will not be the only work of the studio, which will now also be able to focus on historical subjects. Work focused on evaluating the pace of the game, the evolution of relationships over time and the progression of players or narrative cohesion. I mean, how does the story build?

We can take the story we’ve written and see how well we express it through characters, dialogue, cutscenes, and ultimately the player’s journey. Now that we have the ability to build a full game, we can iterate and tweak the things that matter most to our fans.
