FIFA 23: World Cup Update has a date

An accidental leak already whistled it from the rooftops, but now it has also been officially announced: a content update for FIFA 23 on the occasion of the World Cup in Qatar. You can find out exactly what to expect here!

EA today officially announced the major update for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar for FIFA 23. The patch will therefore be made available free of charge from November 9, 2022 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, PS4 and Xbox One. In addition, there will also be an update for FIFA Mobile from November 8th.

With the patch, EA wants to enable an authentic single-player reenactment of the World Cup 2022 with one of the 32 qualified national teams in FIFA 23 – from the opening game to the final. You’ll also be able to shape the tournament experience according to your own preferences by changing groups or swapping out specific teams.

There is also an online tournament mode where you have to fight your way through the knockout rounds as one of the qualified nations to compete against other players in the world.

From November 21st through December 18th, FIFA World Cup: Live will be available to all FIFA 23 players as an additional live experience. This event will be updated during the group and knockout rounds of the actual tournament so you can faithfully recreate the authentic games and teams of each match. In addition to this, you can also forge your own stories by modifying the results of past games.

Otherwise, there’s the Your FIFA World Cup feature, where you choose a country and pick a starting point from past or current matchdays and start a single-player tournament that will reflect progress in the real world so far. There should also be seamless integration into FIFA Ultimate Team. Five brand new FUT campaigns will be released from November 11th to December 23rd.

In addition to this, FUT fans can also look forward to the “World Championship: Road to Glory” which will take place from November 11th to 23rd and which will make available 30 unique World Championship heroes that have a special World Championship hero frame. In addition to the FUT Heroes Collector’s Edition, 35 special FUT World Cup Icons will also be made available to honor players who excelled during the World Cup season.
