Yesterday, during the Overwatch League Finals, Blizzard announced a new tank hero, Ramatra. Overwatch 2will compete in December.
Ramatra was once a “war machine” who “protected his people by promoting peace and tranquility while laying down ammunition”.
Obviously, his ideals are not far from Zenyatta’s. However, Ramatra’s story is one of suffering and trauma, and “an amplified view of the harsh reality of humanity” replaces his sense of harmony with dissonance. Now, he approaches his beliefs from a more pragmatic standpoint and justifies any means necessary to defend his omnic companions.
Ramattra will join the tank lineup at the start of the second season, which begins on December 6. More information on the new heroes will be shared in the weeks leading up to the launch of Season 2.
