Gaming News Promo for PS4, PS5: 9 excellent video games for less than 10 dollars on PlayStation Store
November promos have started on PlayStation Store. The opportunity to discover hits on PS5 or PS4 that you might have missed back then. Want to catch up on some great games at a lower price? All of the games listed below are available for less than $10 and scored at least a 17 out of 20 upon release.
We start with an opus of a historical license: Battlefield V. It is skeptical that the fans of the license welcomed the first information about the title, which was considered too similar to its predecessor. And yet, Battlefield V offered an air of renewal by borrowing from an orientation of its time: duty games and battle royale. But alongside this election that divided fans, you have to admit that Battlefield V offered overhauled gameplay focused on co-op, as well as a pretty impressive technical example. Add to that an overhauled Grand Operation mode, lots of customization options, an overhauled class system, and a fair and consistent battle royale, and you have an excellent Battlefield V. For all these reasons, it had actually earned the rating of 18 out of 20 at 20 us.
- Price : $9.99 until November 10 (instead of $39.99)
Borderlands is a well-known license in the video game landscape. With her open humor and nagging gameplay, she’s certainly divisive, but it’s hard not to see a certain quality in her. And that applies even more to his second episode. Flowing and unwinding at will, it has established itself as the best opus in the saga with a whopping 18 out of 20 in our eyes. If you need to discover the offbeat universe of this FPS license, this is where you need to start. And that’s a good thing, because Borderlands: The Handsome Collection is available for a great price on PlayStation Store. This compilation includes the famous Borderlands 2 and its expansions, but also Borderlands The Pre-Sequel! Admittedly, it’s not as good as Borderlands 2, but the latter in particular is worth bragging about.

In its early days, The Game Bakers (Haven) was best known for its Squids series. But in 2016, the studio will establish itself as a generator of unexpected nuggets by tackling a completely different game genre: Beat ’em All and Shoot ’em Up. It is the fiery Furi with his universe all in neon that perseveres in this difficult task. And it’s a real success. The game manages to be challenging without giving in to unfair frustration, all introduced through ultra-intuitive gameplay. Add to that changing boss patterns depending on the level of difficulty, an original and well-functioning life system and a catchy soundtrack and you have a game that is difficult to put down after the start. That’s why it got an excellent 17 out of 20 points from us. But beware, if the game is more than good, it won’t suit all types of players. As said, Furi is a demanding game and therefore extremely punishable. If you are allergic to Tryhard, the adventure can be painful.
- Price : $5.99 until November 10 (instead of $19.99)
Furi exhausted you? Looking for something quieter to rest your mind? Let’s go back in time a little bit to find a game that was released in 2010. This point’n’click with a very polished artistic direction puts us in the shoes of a little robot, Josef, who was thrown into a mass grave. Whose goal? Return to the city and save his beloved Berta. Along the way, he meets many characters, each more interesting and colorful than the next, but he also has to solve puzzles. But the greatest advantage of Machinarium is the emotions it is able to convey thanks to its captivating universe and its wonderful and moving story. “A unique experience that cannot be told, that is lived” we wrote in our test and that still applies today. Note that a bundle containing Machinarium and another Amanita Design game, Creaks, is also on sale ($8.99 instead of $29.99).
- Price : $3.74 until November 10 (instead of $14.99)
Do you like this kind of flashback? So let’s travel a little further back to 2006, the year Psychonauts was released. The young Razputin you play dreams of joining them and so decides to infiltrate their training camp. And circumstances will allow him to prove himself very quickly. In fact, a mysterious villain has stolen the brains of the young psychics in the camp. Raz has no choice: he must master his powers of telekinesis, levitation and astral projection to save the day. Refreshing and surprising, this lighthearted adventure proved to be captivating from start to finish and fully deserved its 17 out of 20 in our columns.

Sonic Frontiers is about to land, offering a 3D adventure starring our favorite blue hedgehog. But maybe you don’t particularly like the principle. They’re pretty nostalgic for the old 2D episodes of the good old days when Sonic almost overshadowed Mario. If this is your case, know that in 2017 a game was born that pays homage to them. It’s Sonic Mania. It is possible that you missed this excursion and that is a pity. Sonic Mania is more than a successful homage, it has managed to reconcile the mechanics of the time with others, more modern. Add to that good graphics and a soundtrack almost as iconic as that of the first Sonic games, and you have an incredibly satisfying title for both nostalgic and newbies. It’s not for nothing that he received a nice 17 out of 20 from us back then.
- Price : $9.99 until November 10 (instead of $19.99)
We’re going up a notch with a game that has scored a very nice 18 out of 20 for us: Street Fighter V. Lovers of fighting games, it’s time to get ready for this title of 2016 ahead of the arrival of Street Fighter VI falling in love. Well featured and still just as enjoyable to play, the fifth edition of this flagship license gets the job done and does it well. But be careful, the version available until November 10th for less than five dollars is not the Champion Edition including the many character DLCs released afterwards. But rest assured, it still contains Arcade, Team Battle and Extra Battle (online) modes. All you have to do is participate in as many battles as possible and emerge victorious to collect battle money and thus buy the missing characters and levels.
- Price : $4.99 until November 10 (instead of $19.99)
With Titanfall 2 we return to the FPS side. When Respawn Entertainment, Bluepoint Games, and Electronic Arts offered us a multiplayer game based on big mechas in a sci-fi universe back in 2014, we were pleasantly surprised. But the developers revamped the test two years later with a second work that scored a nice 17 out of 20 on ours. There are many reasons for this leap forward. This ranges from the ultra-dynamic gameplay, to the story that is as rhythmic as it is fun and engaging, to the expansion of the content, the presence of different and varied modes and the sublimated multiplayer. From underdog to juggernaut, Titanfall 2 is definitely an experience you should try if you’re a fan of FPS. Especially since the game is not dead, sustained by a loyal community that is still present despite the years. And for those who don’t know, note that Battle Royale Apex Legends is set in the same universe as the Titanfall franchise.

After an initial release in 2008, Valkyria Chronicles got a second wind in 2016 with a remastered version on PS4. But what is Valkyria Chronicles? This is a tactical role-playing game by Sega that takes us to an imaginary Europe. The year is 1935 and the free nation of Gallia finds itself in the midst of a conflict between two major powers. As Welkin Gunther and Alicia Melchiott, your goal is to save as many people as possible and find a way out of this chaos. Enough to deliver an epic that largely deserves its handsome 18 out of 20. Note that this revised version offers smoother gameplay, improved graphics and faster loading times. In addition, it includes the various DLCs that appeared in the PS4 version, namely the one introducing the Hard EX mode (more difficult Skirmish missions), the missions “Enter the Edy Detachment” and “Behind Her Blue Flame” as well as Bonus -Challenges.
