Adaptations from video games to TV series and movies don’t stop, from the Paramount-produced Halo series to the recent Sonic and Mortal Kombat movies, video games are making a dent in this swathe of culture. However, according to the Hollywood Reporter media, The Coalition is already creating several audiovisual adaptations of Gears of War in collaboration with Netflix.
There were many rumors but nothing ever materialized, now with this news everything is closed and live productions will officially take place. First, a live-action movie will be considered, followed by an anime series with a Mature rating. All this is part of the celebration of 16 years of the first title.
Netflix confirms collaboration with The Coalition to adapt a Gears of War movie
According to a tweet from Netflix, they’ve teamed up with The Coalition to produce a movie and series in commemoration of the first title’s 16th anniversary. Although we don’t have more details, we can expect both productions to have a grown-up tinge.
