We keep telling you about the horrendous system requirements for current PC games, so it’s sometimes gratifying to be able to report the opposite. The new street racer from EA will make almost no gaming PC sweat.
You can still play Need for Speed Unbound without any problems even if your system is getting a bit old, which can definitely be related to the rather unusual comic-book look. The requirements in detail:
minimum requirements
- Operating system: Windows 10 64-bit
- Processor: Ryzen 5 2600 or Core i5 8600
- Graphic card: Radeon RX 570 oder Geforce GTX 1050 Ti
- Random access memory: 8.0 GByte RAM
- storage capacity: 50 GB
Recommended
- Operating system: Windows 10 64-bit
- Processor: Ryzen 5 3600 or Core i7 8700
- Graphic card: Radeon RX 5700 oder Geforce RTX 2070
- Random access memory: 16.0 GByte RAM
- storage capacity: 50 GB
As you can see, the requirements are rather low and you don’t need up-to-date hardware to enjoy the game. What is unfortunately not clear is which resolution and which frame rate are targeted with these settings. For this we will December 02 have to wait.
Based on EA’s proprietary Frostbite engine, Need For Speed Unbound brings a new look that complements the gameplay with comic book and anime effects. If you’re not a fan of these effects, you can turn them off if needed. You can find out more about this here:

A co-op campaign will be added to the normal single-player campaign, which will also be on board from launch. The game will also appear for the Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Above Crossplay players of all platforms will be able to compete on the streets of Lakeshore City. As a PC player, you also have HDR10 support as well as VRR and DLSS on board.
