There’s almost nothing left for us to enjoy on Xbox and via Xbox Game Pass Obsidian’s latest game, Pentiment. Launch is fast approaching and although it is a “minor” title, one should not underestimate what Obsidian has cre ated with this particular game that reminds us of the classic graphic adventures of yesteryear.
Personally, I was able to play it at Gamescom last August and found the game to be a really interesting proposition. Something different from what we have seen before from the studio, but with that Obsidian touch that you will notice from the first minutes of the game. Also, in order to get 100% of what it offers, Pentiment is going to make us play more than one game, it will not be possible to get everything in the first round. Completing 100% Pentiment will not be a walk
Designing achievements is difficult as some developers feel they should be designed specifically for achievement hunters and others want them to look more organic and less structured around a meta game strategy. I fall into the latter camp, so the objectives are more reflective of an individual player’s journey through the game. It’s impossible to get all of the achievements in a single playthrough, but it’s possible to get around 80% in one single part.
In particular, the people you accuse of murder can change each game (and only one will be found guilty each game). Also, there is not enough time to do everything and you may be cut out of some events which will be available the next time you play.
Pentiment will land on Xbox and Xbox Game Pass if all goes as planned on November 15.
