Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 has had a turbulent and at times uncertain history, but Paradox boss Wester is now raising hopes of a release not too far away.
Actually, Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 was supposed to appear two years ago, but after several postponements and the loss of important personal details, this goal became more and more distant. In the end, this meant that the game was put on hold until further notice and was even close to the final end.
Fortunately, Paradox Interactive decided to give the game another chance. Since then it has been in development at an unspecified studio and there has been dead silence about the vampires.
In an interview with a Swedish website, however, Paradox boss Fredrik Wester has now commented on the subject and raises hopes of a release that could not be that far away. In the interview, he said that Paradox “will probably be able to set a launch date for this game relatively soon” and called a release in 2023 “not at all impossible”.
He also justifies the silence about the game with the fact that in the past you have burned your fingers. Which suggests that the original date was announced too soon. “We said we won’t be releasing anything until we have a concrete release date or at least a release month,” he added.
Let’s hope for the best, especially since there’s a great legacy at stake. Neither Vampire: The Masquerade – Redemption by Nihilistic nor Bloodlines by Troika Games were commercial successes. Both titles, even more so Bloodlines, have something of a legendary status among role-players. Bloodlines came onto the market with a lot of bugs and Troika Games was closed shortly after the release, but the game still brings back pleasant memories due to its story and the excellent dialogues along with the successful implementation of the vampire universe.
