Baldur’s Gate III has been in Early Access for two years now and some may wonder if the game will ever be finished. Now the developers have come forward and are promising a lot.
In October, Baldur’s Gate III went into Early Access on Steam, there were quite a few updates and new content, but there was little to be seen of a release date so far. In a new one Community update on Steam Larian Studios has now spoken again.
And after all, even if the game grows and grows, the period 2023 is apparently there – at least that’s what Larian Studios confirms and may want to comment more specifically in December as part of a new panel From Hell. A specific date, or at least a limited release period, may then be named.
Early Access players can also look forward to new content, as Update 9 is apparently scheduled to be released later this year. More specific information about the update and the new content will be announced in the foreseeable future.
Acts 2 and 3 are currently in playtesting, and there is said to be a lot more in the works or complete than what’s seen in Early Access. The goal is that even players who have completed the first act several times can still experience something new when the game is officially launched.
Apart from that, Larian Studios has again expanded its resources and opened a new motion capture studio in Guildford to complement the existing studios in Ghent, Kuala Lumpur, Quebec and Dublin. The Larian mocap facility in Guildford is Larian’s largest mocap room. It measures 14m x 12m and currently has 40 Vantage V16 cameras and three additional reference cameras, all running VFX motion capture software.
With the bard, another character class is being introduced into the RPG Baldur’s Gate 3.
