Medieval fantasy game Blacktail, the debut of Kraków studio The Parasight, lets you play as the fairy tale witch Baba Yaga in her bow and arrow carrying youth. You decide her fate, whether she is a good witch or a bad witch, depending on how you navigate the magical, dangerous forest she roams.
“When vivid memories of their past return as foul, walking ghosts.” Blacktailsays the site. “Yaga has no choice but to hunt them down in hopes of uncovering her own secret.”
I am excited about BlacktailPremise – I am a former small child with vivid imaginary memories of Baba Yaga’s gnarled hands and the battered hut in the forest. However, I am one little resents that Yaga’s voice actress sounds British, despite the character growing up isolated from everyone except early Belarusians. I hope the game’s story is mythical enough and compelling enough to distract me from the Anglo-Saxon intrusion.
