  • When connecting an Nvidia RTX graphics card to the HDMI port of a Samsung Neo QLED TV, many users only see a black screen.
  • A workaround has now been found for the problem: If the signal is fed in via an HDMI splitter, the picture can be seen again as usual.
  • Without the additional hardware, there doesn’t seem to be a solution to the problem at the moment – Samsung itself hasn’t responded with a firmware patch yet.

Reports of failures with the new Samsung Neo QLED televisions in connection with Nvidia RTX graphics cards were piling up online: Many users saw a black screen like a signal loss instead of the desired gaming graphics with 120 Hertz in 4K quality.

This is what Jahn reported on his specialist blog 4k moviesthat redirecting the HDMI signal via the splitter safely brings the images back to the television in gaming mode with a high refresh rate – and also points out that an HDMI splitter and HDMI switch are not the same type of device is: The switches did not bring the same success in the test as the somewhat more expensive splitters.
