CoD Warzone 2.0 has been live since today and Season 1 of CoD Modern Warfare 2 has also started. Not surprisingly, considering the technical condition since release, the shooter is currently struggling with a few problems. We list the most common problems and give possible solutions.
The most common problems in MW2 & Warzone 2
Server down / connection not possible
mistake: Many players continue to face the problem that they cannot access the main menu after starting the game because connecting to the servers fails. Either the status goldflake error occurs or the error code 25509 is waiting.
solution: Since the servers are overloaded due to the high demand, in most cases the only thing that helps is to try again and again. On Reddit, however, some players report possible solutions. For console players, a simple restart of the PlayStation or Xbox should have helped, PC players should try deleting the Battle.net cache folder. Slow download on Battle.net
mistake: If you are currently trying to download the game via the Battle.net app, you must expect slow download speeds.
solution: This error is also due to the high demand, as probably hundreds of thousands of players across various platforms are currently downloading or updating their game. Unfortunately, the only thing that helps is waiting. To be on the safe side, however, you should check in the settings whether you have deactivated the following options:
mistake: If you currently want to play in a group with friends, you can’t do that easily at the moment – as soon as you open the friends list, you are almost always immediately thrown back into the menu.
solution: Playing with friends is possible via a detour. Click on the headphone icon in the top right corner of the screen and create a new voice chat channel there. Now invite your friends to the channel, then you can add them to your party from there.
Driver problems with graphics cards
mistake: When starting the game, the error message “Graphic driver is out of date.” may appear if you have not installed the driver version required by the game.
solution: Ideally, you should install the driver recommended for your graphics card. You can find out which driver versions are guaranteed to work here:

More problems in MW2 & Warzone 2
Developer Raven Software, who are responsible for the development of Warzone 2, have a Trello board with recent bugs and issues released. The following problems can be found there:
- Battle Tokens for the Battle Pass cannot be spent.
- Executions cannot be equipped.
- The Play Again button had to be disabled due to an issue.
- Squad members do not appear in the squad widget at the bottom left of the screen.
- Occasionally you won’t be able to see your completed tasks and earned XP at the end of a round.
- Sometimes players die outright when they are supposed to go downed.
There is currently no solution for all these problems, unfortunately all players have to wait for bug fixes by the developers.
