Insomniacs 2018 Spiderman was a very good open-world superhero game with a large cast of villains, heroes, and supporting characters like Aunt May and Mary Jane. It also included the voice of Peter Parker’s friend Harry Osborn, who did not physically appear in the game but was heard over recorded messages he left for Parker. But the actor who voiced Harry in this news says he’s not coming back upcoming sequel 2023 because he is too old to play the younger character.

Marvel’s Spider-Man was originally released on PS4 and later updated and re-released on PS5 in a revised and expanded form. Spoilers for this game and 2020s Miles Morales follow: In the end we find that Harry Osborn was not out of the country as he had explained in his messages. Instead, he was being held in a secret medicinal vat by his father and former New York Mayor Norman Osborn, apparently with a symbiote. Later in another post-credits scene in Miles Morales, we see Norman order Doctor Connors to release his son. But it seems that when Harry finally shows up in earnest in the next game, he’ll be voiced by a different actor.

First seen by in a deleted tweet EurogamerHarry Osborn actor Scott Porter answered to a fan who shares his excitement at hearing his performance in the time to come Spiderman Consequence. He stated that he would not be coming back to voice the character and said that while he understood it, he was depressed.

“While I spoke to Harry in the first one Spiderman“Unfortunately I won’t be in the sequel,” Porter tweeted. As for why he won’t return, he claims it was due to Insomniac’s decision to go ‘photorealistic’ with his actors in the upcoming PS5 sequel and that he felt his age difference between the younger Harry character was ‘too big’ . overcome.” (Porter is 43.)

“I was stunned, but I get it,” Porter said, “it’s going to be an incredible game.”

my city contacted Insomniac about the tweet and Porter’s future involvement with the franchise. But if that’s true – and his quick deletion seems to suggest it’s real and something he might not have been allowed to share – this is another example of Insomniac recasting a character.

Last time, the studio recast his Spiderman, who changes his face from the original PS4 version to a more Tom Holland-esque new actor. Although in this case the voice actor for Spider-Man, Yuri Lowenthal, remained the same. As a matter of fact, The new face was chosen to better suit Lowenthal, which lends some credence to Porter’s claims. It’s likely that given the chance to recast an actor to physically portray Harry in the next game, Insomniac jumped at the opportunity to do so. Still, it’s a bummer for Porter and fans of his take on the famous character.
